Some random company history, 1976-2005:
1976 Company founded as
"Rapid Graphics." At one point there were satellite offices in Sandy Hook and
Bethel, with the bulk of the offset press and bindery work done in the Danbury
building.
April 1, 1995 Company
changes ownership. Corporate name changed to Miracle Printing, Inc.
1998 Miracle Graphics
& Marketing, LLC born. New office opens at the corner of Stony Hill Road/Rt
6 and Garella Road in a building that was previously used by a local church
(just off I-84 Exit 8 at the entrance to the Berkshire Corporate Park). As
Addessi Jewelers of Danbury was closing, we bought their beautiful cherry front
counter for our new lobby. The benefits of the Bethel/Danbury line office
include nice neighbors, especially the deli now called Nick's (formerly Dave's
Nook), Pride Cleaners, Triumph Personal Training and Armando's Restaurant. Our
customers are pleased by the new office and convenient parking. There's even a
handy stop light to re-enter Route 6, yeah!
1999 Miracle grows!
Miracle Graphics & Marketing, LLC leases the second floor of our building,
doubling our floor space.
August, 2003: Miracle Graphics buys
local florist. MGM, LLC purchased the remains of Wild Iris, LLC,
formerly known as Balloons and Flowers, of Brookfield as it is closing.
Supplies and a former employee of the company are moved to a stylish new
location on Stony Hill Road (just up from Target, across the street from
Miracle Graphics) and the new shop is named "Arts & Flowers of Stony Hill."
The display area includes an art gallery and locally handmade gift items for
sale surrounded by fresh flowers. MGM becomes perhaps the only print/design
shop with florists on staff. It's all design, just different media. Both shops
deliver!
October, 2003 MGM, LLC
and subsidiary Arts & Flowers of Stony Hill expand further by acquiring the
equipment and hard goods of Messina's Flower Shop of Danbury as Sam Messina
retires. His phone number, with a sixty year history, now rings in our floral
studio. Sam brings his years of experience and comes to work for Arts &
Flowers. We also hire Sam's driver, Marty, to deliver flowers, fruit baskets,
and balloons as well as printing jobs and customer proofs. A&F and Miracle,
although in separate buildings across the street from each other, continue to
share resources and grow together.
2003 MGM, LLC and
subsidiary Arts & Flowers of Stony Hill join DBE, The Danbury Business
Executives, a professional networking group.

Early 2004 MGM, LLC and
subsidiary Arts & Flowers of Stony Hill launch www.NiceFlorist.com which
links to our on-line flower ordering website: www.bethelflowers.com. The site
is promoted on the internet and with co-op advertising through Teleflora.

2005 MGM, LLC and subsidiary Arts & Flowers of Stony Hill expand
again by acquiring the 3-bay floral cooler and hard goods of a flower shop in
Monroe as they lose their lease after 15 years. This expansion was made
possible by Miracle workers Shannon, Karl, Al and Eileen. Photos to come soon!
January 2005 MGM, LLC
finally has its second floor office repainted. Wow, that looks better! Thank
you to Michael Seri, painter, artist and Miracle client. Michael called
9-25-06 - he's doing well, needed more business cards.
June 30, 2007 With the
assistance of Frank of Eagle Realty, MGM, LLC sold its flower shop, Arts &
Flowers of Stony Hill, to Kim T. who changed the name to Bethel Flower Market.
Best of luck to you.
August 2007 With the
assistance of Frank of Eagle Realty, MGM, LLC leased 12 Old Rt 7, Brookfield CT as

Mission statement, August
2007 This is a people business as well as a printing business. The
majority of our clients are small businesses, many just starting out with so
many questions and misguided ideas. They need some handholding and listening
time, and we can do that. As we have matured as an organization ourselves, this
being our 31st year as a company, the level of consulting we have been able to
perform has grown exponentially. We have out-lived clients who did not heed our
advice! In an increasingly complex marketplace where the pace has increased
daily, there is less and less time for costly marketing and printing mistakes,
and many of our clients appreciate our opinions and insight.
Technology
has brought decent color printing to many desktops, but the costs are still
generally higher to "do-it-yourself" versus outsourcing to a print shop like
Miracle Graphics & Marketing, LLC. When printing in varying volumes, it is
important to utilize the most efficient machinery and methods, e.g. you do not
run low quantity business cards on a 40" offset press and 250,000 postcards are
far too many to produce on a digital toner-based device. We know how to keep
costs down - that is one of our primary objectives for our clients. This is an
important fact as most, if not all, of our clients are very price sensitive.
Maintaining a high level of service in what can be perceived as a commodity
industry is a daily challenge. It is somewhat disappointing to be the winning
bid for a project strictly on price, we prefer to be recommended to others for
our creativity, innovation, resourcefulness, range of services and the fact
that we really do care about the success and well-being of our clients. But
many times we are less expensive, due in part to our low overhead, efficient
production equipment, ASI trade affiliation (Advertising Specialty Institute),
and of course our inventive employees.
Our advertising
specialty/promotional product department has driven the growth in our company.
Far more money and time were invested in that product line, so this is not
surprising. We have attended major industry shows in Las Vegas, Philadelphia
and New York. We have invested thousands of dollars in training materials,
workshops, new software and custom catalogs. We practice what we preach by
handing our own promotional items with our logo on them daily and with
enthusiasm. This has definitely increased sales. Stop by right now and you will
be gifted with a bright lime green Miracle logo totebag with any purchase (or
just because you asked for one). Several other interesting self-promotions are
in progress, with more ideas always in the wings.
Miracle
Philosophy, August 2007 Our ads in the phone book used to proudly
declare "We're Friendly!," an attitude that has continued without the need to
include the fact as ad copy. No matter how strange the request or the clients'
product line may be, we will do our best to help promote their cause. We hope
to be the phone number (or email, or fax, or mail, or website
) our
clients contact first, identifying Miracle Graphics & Marketing, LLC as
their personal copy editor, printing, graphic design, event planning, technical
support & marketing department.
We value our suppliers and strive to
treat them with respect and hold them responsible for completing our purchase
orders accurately and timely. We have partnered with several of our
"competitors" by sharing resources and equipment, thereby increasing our
confidence to get virtually any job completed for our clients in an efficient
manner regardless of scale. Much has been learned from these friends in our
industry and this in turn creates more value for our own customers.
Miracle remains committed to white paper recycling through our special
blue bins throughout the office, which are gathered into a special green tote
that is picked up by a recycling company, at no charge. This has resulted in
cost savings (we do not even need an expensive dumpster in our Bethel office
because most is recycled). We collect aluminum cans and glass bottles in a
special bin for recycling and/or bottle returns. Miracle has invested in
low-waste production technologies to increase efficiency and reduce waste of
all kinds. Many of our refurbishable (is that a word?) or refillable parts are
sent back to our manufacturers instead of being thrown out.
Miracle has
been involved with many non-profit clients over the years and we are known for
our generous in-kind contributions and discounts. We have received several
awards from the American Red Cross of Western CT including the Champion Award
trophy and the honor of presenting an award at this year's Hero Award
breakfast. Supporting education, we have donated printing, graphic design time,
paper and/or excess materials to Henry Abbott Technical School, Stadley Rough
Elementary School, Western CT State University, New Fairfield High School,
Bethel High School, the Brookfield school system, Naramanke Elementary School
(Norwalk), Country Kids school, day care centers, and others. Amos House, the
Shelter of the Cross, Danbury Children First, Greater Danbury Soap Box Derby,
Newtown Choral Society, various art associations, and so many other non-profit
groups have received something extra from Miracle. We sponsored a "stranger
danger" educational event in Bethel earlier this year in partnership with one
of our clients. We have donated raffle & door prizes to many charitable
events for organizations such as The American Red Cross, DAWS (pet shelter),
several local schools, and others. We are part of the community and enjoy
helping. Giving is certainly part of our corporate culture. |
